Established in 2011, the Central New York Defense Alliance is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization committed to strengthening Central New York’s federal defense assets and fueling high-tech innovation across the region.
We represent a broad coalition of small businesses, research universities, regional stakeholders, and national defense firms working together to grow Central New York’s innovation economy. Through active advocacy in Washington and Albany, we promote forward-looking policies that secure strategic investments, expand advanced manufacturing, and drive workforce development across the region.

For over a decade, the CNY Defense Alliance has been the trusted voice for Central New York’s defense and federal assets. By working with policymakers, industry leaders, and local businesses, the Alliance has protected and expanded the region’s role in national security and defense innovation.

The CNY Defense Alliance has worked with federal and state partners to secure more than $100 million in additional investments for the region. These efforts have strengthened key assets like Rome Lab and protected local jobs, ensuring our region remains a leader in cutting-edge technologies.
