Alliance members and supporters enjoyed a great meeting on Tuesday morning.
Senator Griffo and Mayor Izzo both spoke in support of the Alliance. Then Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (Rome Lab) Chief Engineer, Ms. Karen Roth, provided an overview of the new, ground breaking Open Innovation Campus (OIC).
The OIC will enable the creation of a global Science and Technology eco-system where researchers from the AF, DoD, Government, industry and academia can collaborate to solve difficult computing problems found in Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence (C4I) and Cyber domains using new ‘extreme computing’ architectures such as quantum computing, neuromorphic computing and nano computing combined with machine learning techniques.
The Alliance is excited to be part of the Rome Lab and Oneida County partnership that helped shape the OIC vision and secure the funding, with the help of Senator Schumer, Congressman Brindisi, NYS Senator Griffo and County Executive Picente, to build the OIE.
