Alliance and Griffiss Institute Awarded $3M for “Smart IoT” Living Laboratory

U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, visited the Innovare Advancement Center on Friday, February 10th to announce $3 million in federal funding for Griffiss Institute and the Central NY Defense Alliance to implement a Living Lab for “Smart-X IoT” to explore the impact and implications of the evolving Internet of Things (IoT) in an open environment where developers from industry, government, and academe can test and demonstrate related capabilities. She was joined by Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado, Mayor Jacqueline M. Izzo, Sen. Joseph A. Griffo, R-53, Rome, Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, D-119, Marcy, Griffiss Institute CEO Heather Hage and Dr. Michael Hayduk, deputy director of the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate.
